Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need strong arms to reach high pressures in narrow bicycle tires?
The iPump Micro and iPump Twist use a small-volume chamber to help reach higher pressures. For pressures above 80 PSI, we recommend iPump Twist and its easy-grip handle for more leverage.
Can such a small pump reach 120 PSI?
iPump Twist is designed to pump to 120 PSI with moderate effort and has a rated capacity of 150 PSI. iPump Micro is intended for up to 80 PSI. The pressure you can reach depends on the tire and how you pump.
How long does it take to inflate a completely empty tire?
That depends on tire size, pumping speed and target pressure. As a guide, a typical bicycle tire may take about three minutes when pumping roughly once per second. Your results may vary.
Will the yellow hose break if I bend it?
The flexible polyurethane hose is designed for durability to bend in all directions and return to its original shape.
Will the carbon-fiber pump shatter if I drop it?
iPump pumps are rugged, engineered with the highest quality materials, designed to withstand everyday use and handling.
How reliable are iPump pumps?
The iPump design has undergone extensive development and road testing. Pumps are pressure tested before sale.
